The legendary “Banjo Bus” returns in November-December to the 11th tour of the cult festival in the concert halls of the Republic. In addition to banjos, mandolins, violins, guitars and the double bass are on board again. Masterfully played, they accompany the diverse singers who give the three top ensembles from the USA their incomparable original sound. In order to do justice to the enormous spectrum of the genre between tradition and innovation, two complete Bluegrass bands will be in the program for the first time in 2019:
The Price Sisters from Ohio sing female bluegrass, spiced up with top class mandolin and violin solos. The duo Hoot and Holler with authentic modern Americana folk are rising on-the-road troubadours from North Carolina. Progressive, rocky jamgrass by Chicken Wire Empire from Wisconsin shows how refreshingly modern bluegrass can be. Traditionally, all musicians gather on stage for the grand finale to meet the audience together, a dignified and traditional conclusion of every Jamborees.
The Bluegrass Jamboree – Festival of Bluegrass and Americana Music is unique in Europe and is praised with praise and interest even in the motherland of the Bluegrass scene. Thanks to best contacts in the centers of the music style Bluegrass Impresario Rainer Zellner (awarded by the European Bluegrass Union as “Bluegrass Personality of the Year”) succeeds in presenting the currently hip artists at an early stage. Thus, several stars and Grammy winners can be found on the artist list of the Bluegrass Jamborees of past years.
